About fennel oil
The name has been derived from the Latin word "foenum," meaning "hay". What in the middle ages was known as "fenkle," has been used by many ancient civilizations for therapeutic purposes. Oil is extracted from the crushed seeds of the foeniculum vulgareby by steam distillation process. The oil used for aromatherapy is sweet fennel oil. Bitter fennel oil is not used in aromatherapy.
